Father Santosha Firebird
Puppies born in April 19, 2020
2 males and 1 female saw the light of day.
During the pregnancy there were no abnormalities. She ate well throughout, moved normally, and only gradually expanded her personal space. There were quite a few scoldings for her four-legged housemates who kept getting too close. The birth itself she handled calmly, without panic, fear, or stress.
At 9:00 p.m., the contractions began. 🐾
At 1:35 a.m., after two hours of pushing contractions—and a lot of anxious sweating on my part—the first little one was born weighing 195 g.
At 2:30 a.m., a strong male followed, weighing 180 g.
At 3:30 a.m., a handsome little male was born weighing 123 g, but he had great difficulty breathing. I was unable to save the little boy and presented him to the veterinarian after five days. The vet diagnosed a malformation of the trachea, which had caused a severely enlarged heart. The little one could not drink properly and mostly swallowed air. I had to have him put to sleep, but I will never forget him…
After calm returned to the whelping box, Kashi took wonderful care of her babies. The two “chubby ones” developed beautifully.
